Designed to promote women’s economic independence, Four Wheels to Freedom is a flagship initiative of BRAC’s Road Safety Programme that develops professional driving skills and career opportunities for women.
Under this initiative, 159 disadvantaged and low-income women have been trained and supported to become professional drivers. In addition, a total of 4,558 women have received driving training through BRAC Driving School. Beyond technical training, BRAC facilitates access to driving licenses, employment opportunities, and career pathways that enable women to establish themselves as professional drivers.
The initiative contributes to women’s safe mobility, increased self-confidence, dignified employment, and economic independence. It also aims to increase the presence of women drivers on the roads, challenge social barriers and stereotypes, and inspire future generations by creating positive role models for women in the transport sector.
