Developing a savings habit is the first step towards financial inclusion and responsible financial management, offering opportunities for enterprise expansion, resilience to shocks and future financial security. Participants are encouraged to save a portion of their monthly income to promote savings behaviour. For every participant, there is a savings account, where they can save according to their needs and capability.

Depositing savings

Participants can commence their savings from the first fortnightly group visit. Every participant can save any amount according to their capability.

Savings matching

All participants are eligible for monthly matched savings. For example, if a participant saves BDT 100 for one month then she will receive BDT 100 matching benefit for that month from the programme.

Savings withdrawal

Subject to approval of the programme, a participant can withdraw her savings in case of emergency or to diversify assets. In this case, the participant can withdraw from her own deposit and from the matched savings as well.
