Improving the socioeconomic conditions and livelihoods of indigenous people living in the plain lands of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has diverse ethnic groups and cultural practices, and is home to a large number of indigenous communities. These indigenous communities face a multitude of challenges, including seasonal unemployment, lack of information, land grabbing, lack of access to mainstream services, social security or amenities and extinction of their culture.

Empower indigenous people through improving livelihood opportunities, promoting indigenous culture, building leadership capacity and advocating for indigenous peoples’ issues. We work with 84,000 indigenous people in seven upazilas and three districts in Northwestern Bangladesh, through 287 Indigenous Village Development Organisations.
