Ikanok Mourine

I have been fighting poverty since birth. Even after marriage, I had no financial freedom. After separating from my husband at the age of 28 with three children, I felt very helpless and lost. One of my children is a person with disability, and for him my life took a positive turn. I was selected as a participant of a special project for persons living with disabilities by BRAC’s Ultra-Poor Graduation programme. Today, I am a successful farmer and entrepreneur. I am also a member of the Village Saving Group Association. I bought a piece of land with my savings. Throughout my journey with BRAC, I realised my inner strength, courage and confidence.
