To increase the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines, we are actively engaging with communities through three modalities: registration and mobilisation, awareness campaigns, and debunking misinformation.

Considering the limitations of internet access and digital literacy amongst the communities with low incomes, our CHWs facilitate registration on the government designated website for vaccination ( https://surokkha.gov.bd/ ). When necessary, they facilitate travel to the designated vaccination centres and provide advice on management of side effects. Currently, 700 CHWs are directly supporting the government to administer vaccines as well.

Mass media, social media and local information campaigns are also integral to the vaccination drive. Vaccine awareness is disseminated through traditional outlets such as television, radio and newspapers, in addition to popular social media outlets such as Facebook and YouTube. In strategic spots where communities generally convene, local level miking is also conducted.

In addition, our CHWs also debunk myths and rumours that create hesitancy to receive the vaccine. Research is currently being conducted on the correlation between the vaccine and severe reactions.
