The Finance and Accounts Department consists of four sub-units: Finance, Accounts, Internal Financial Control, and Provident Fund. The unit was established since the beginning of BRAC and it currently has seventy staff working in it.

The Finance unit mainly maintains the central treasury of BRAC- dealing with overall cash inflows & outflows, utilization of fund, fund management, investment and many more activities.

The Accounts unit is responsible mainly for consolidation of accounts; inter office accounting transaction, donor grant accounting and budget preparation. The unit is also involved in conducting financial management training, preparing reports to the management, donors and NGO Bureau and also working with external and internal audit.

The Internal Financial Control Unit reviews the effectiveness of the internal financial controls implemented at different BRAC projects and the Head Office. The unit also identifies the organisation’s financial risks and ways to counter them.

The Provident Fund unit deals with all functions related to BRAC employee’s provident fund. Some of the functions include provident fund account creation, provident fund deduction, provident fund loans and investment.

The BRAC Finance and Accounts Department not only deals with all financial policy making issues, but also participates in relevant programme related work and contributes to the policy-making process of the organisation.
