30 delegates from
Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), India, visited BRAC programmes
in Tangail on January 17 following a debriefing at BRAC Centre on January
16. Mr. Gunendu Kumar Roy, Programme Coordinator, BRAC Development Programmes
(BDP), and Mr. Fariduzzaman Rana, Public Affairs and Communications, participated
in the debriefing. The team was accompanied to the field at Tangail by
Mr. Fariduzzaman Rana on January 17. Focusing primarily on BRAC Micro-finance
programmes, the group observed village organization meeting (Dabi and
Unnoti), meeting with Targeting Ultra Poor (TUP) and Income Generation
for Vulnerable Group Development (IGVGD), meeting with health volunteers,
Income generating activities, Human Rights and Legal Education class and
Progoti (Micro Enterprise Lending and Assistance) and BRAC Primary school. |
