As part of the effort to support the Directorate General of Health Services, BRAC operates 41 sample collection booths across Bangladesh, initiated from March 2020. These booths offer RT-PCR, and 16 of them have started offering rapid antigen testing from April 2021.

Any individual experiencing COVID-19 symptoms can register online for sample collection at https://coronatest.brac.net/ and pay the government designated fee of BDT 100 (USD 1.17). Once the suspected patient arrives at the booth, technical staff determine whether an antigen test or RT-PCR will be administered.

Antigen tests can show results within 30 minutes, which is then communicated to the patient via SMS and uploaded on to the website. In case symptoms are present but the antigen test shows a negative result, an RT-PCR test is conducted.

Samples for RT-PCR testing are sent to laboratories authorised by DGHS and the subsequent results are uploaded to the government operated website https://covid19reports.dghs.gov.bd/.
