With Mr. Manzoorul Karim as the first ombudsperson appointed on September 1, 2004, BRAC has established the office of the ombudsperson with a comprehensive mandate to investigate any incident of maladministration and misuse of power with in BRAC. This includes grievances, such as corruption, abuse of power or discretion, negligence, oppression, nepotism, rudeness, arbitrariness, unfairness and discrimination especially gender based discrimination.
