Mina hailing from Netrokona has been a TUP beneficiary for fourteen months now. Starting the programme she did not have a proper house to call her own and no regular source of income as her husband worked as a day labor at irregular intervals. After going through much hardship she finally joined BRAC’s TUP programme in late 2009 and hoped for a better future. BRAC provided Mina with three day training on rearing cattle and gave her two cows and also built a cow shed for her. BRAC also provided Mina with 50 BDT worth of Dal weekly for the first one year to help sustain her family. Apart from improving her financial status BRAC has also provided Mina with a proper latrine and knowledge about safe hygiene, sanitation and water practices which have helped her live a healthy life.
