A mock fire drill and evacuation was carried out successfully on Monday, May 15th at the BRAC Head Office at 75 Mohakhali, Dhaka. The drill was held between 10 AM and 12 PM and was conducted jointly with the Fire Service and Civil Defense.

Prior to the drill, training on Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention, Rescue and Evacuation was conducted for all Floor Representatives at BRAC Centre and Aarong House between 7th and 9th May, 2006. The exercise included staff from all floors of the BRAC Centre including that of the tenants. During the exercise one or more floors was designated as if on fire. A fire alarm was raised/sounded and thereafter Fire and Evacuation drill was set into operation. The Public Address system was brought into operation for passing instructions.

The Floor Representatives along with their Fire Teams were responsible for conducting fire fighting and evacuation of their respective floors. At the end of the drill, all staff gathered at the ground floor terrace for a debriefing.
