BRAC Foundation
has been registered as a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) in The
Republic of Uganda and The United Republic of Tanzania on 20th January,
2006 and 07th March 2006 respectively. The certificate was issued following
BRAC Foundation’s application last year to work in these poverty-stricken
African countries to eradicate poverty, promote empowerment of rural
women, provide sanitation and clean water supply and provide basic education
for school dropouts in rural areas. According to the authorities, BRAC
Foundation can operate countrywide in Uganda and Tanzania.
