In June 2006, BRAC began operating its Microfinance Programme in three regions in Tanzania - Dar-es-salam, Arusha and Coast. Ten offices were opened in the country, with a total staff of 57. To date, over 307 Village Organisations have been formed in Uganda with over 8,300 members. More than US $ 570,000 has been disbursed with a loan realisation rate of 100%.
