Responding to the needs of the Association of Peasants of Fondwa (APF) and long-time partner, Fonkoze, BRAC made a commitment to repair and rebuild 387 homes in Fondwa that were damaged by the earthquake on January 12, 2010.
BRAC is using local materials and is training local staff in architectural techniques that are earthquake and hurricane-resistant to provide lasting skills in the community, in addition to more permanent homes.
So far, 250 houses have been rebuilt or repaired and we've provided construction training to more than 150 Haitians.
