Support Vision Bangladesh

Vision Bangladesh

The success of Vision Bangladesh depends entirely on voluntary donations.

By supporting this appeal, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped saved the sight and transformed the lives of tens of thousands of Sylheti people, a truly amazing achievement.
When you consider how cost effective eye treatments are, and what an immediate impact they have on a poor blind person’s life by restoring their ability to seek work again, it is easy to see what an enormous impact your gift could have.

You can click on one of the links below to donate to Vision Bangladesh:

Here are some examples of what your gift could buy

  • £6 could pay for the required three days of training for a community health volunteer in eye care health who visits more than a hundred households every month.
  • £20 could pay for one adult cataract operation
  • £34.50 could buy one cataract consumables kit for five operations including lenses, sutures, eye dressings and pharmaceuticals.
  • £30 can pay for 20 pairs of glasses
  • £75 could pay for one child cataract operation
  • £433 could pay for one ophthalmologist to be trained in small incision surgery
  • £900 could pay for a one year poster and leaflet awareness campaign across whole of Sylhet region
  • £1,924 could pay for the equipment for one new eye care sub-centre, where we will identify general eye conditions, treat where possible and make referrals.
  • £5,000 could pay for 250 adult cataract surgeries at one of Vision Bangladesh’s hospital partners

If you are interested in sponsoring a specific eye care health project with a gift of £3,000 or more, we would be delighted to discuss this further with you. For administrative reasons, gifts of less than £3,000 cannot be restricted to a project.

If you would like to organise a private fundraising dinner or a funding circle (whereby you make a pledge and challenge your friends to match it), our professional fundraising team is here to support you.
Senior Sightsavers and BRAC staff, including colleagues from Bangladesh, would be delighted to attend your event to talk about our work in Bangladesh.
