Social Communication & Advocacy

We seek to influence the resource holders and access providers as well as the individuals, communities, organisations, and policy makers to contribute in bringing about changes in the lives of the poor and marginalised. We stride to highlight BRAC’s interventions for poverty alleviation and empowerment of the poor through Participation, Interaction and Mobilisation (PIM) process.

We implement social communication and media mobilisation activities to change individual and group behaviour and raise voice in favour of the marginalised. Through Policy Advocacy we convince policy makers to review, reform, enact and implement policies to improve the overall human rights scenario of Bangladesh.

Under the umbrella of Advocacy we are working in three different areas, which are Ultra Poverty, Health and Safe Migration in 53 districts around the country and have directly reached about 20 million people by December 2010.

Goal: Influence the access providers and resource holders to contribute in bringing about changes in the lives of the poor and marginalised.

Objectives

1. Encourage policy makers, service providers, resource holders, civil society and community to take initiatives in favour of the disadvantaged and the marginalised people.

2. Identify and disseminate best practices and learning among the people who mold public opinion.

3. Strengthening network with likeminded national and international organisations.
