Learning Division: Timeline

1972 -BRAC founded. 
1973 -BRAC Training activities begin. 
1978 -BLC Savar established. 
1983 -BLC Modhupur established.
1987 -BLC Rangpur established.
1988 -BLC Jessore established.
1990 -Launched Management Development Program (MDP).
1991 -BLC Faridpur established. BRAC Centre for Development Management (BCDM), Rajendrapur established.
1992 -BLC Comilla established. Exposure visits and training programs for overseas participants launched.
1993 -BRAC Learning Division established combining BLC and MDP. TARC Rajshahi, Mymensing, and Sreemongal established. GAAC started.
1994 -GQAL program initiated.
1997 -Global Partnership (GP) with SIT and ORAP for NGO studies, education, and training commenced. ‘BRAC Culture & Values’ course launched for BRAC staff.
1998 -Capacity Development Unit established.
1999 -Training Monitoring & Materials Development Unit re-instituted.
2000 -BLD partners with NIPSOM to implement HII project under the government HPSP program.
2001 -BLC Bogra and Barisal established. “Reproductive Health for All” manual published in Bangla.
2002 -A review mission led by BLD helps develop a five-year strategic plan for the ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) of Afghanistan.
2003 -Three new hired learning centres started in Chittagong, Sylhet, and Dinajpur. A core group of BLD Training Professionals develops and facilitates training programs for Afghan Development Professionals in Afghanistan.
2004 -The management structure of BLD is recognised into 10 units.
2005 -BLC Dinajpur established.
2006 -BLC Gulshan established. Launched Lead Program.
2007 -BLC Uttara, Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar established. DevPro started.
2008 -BLC Chittagong established. Launched, Young Professionals Program (YPP).
