Vision Bangladesh Project, Health Programme
The project is equally funded by BRAC and Sightsavers. BRAC is responsible for the demand side of the project i.e. advocacy and community mobilization, while Sightsavers is responsible for the supply side including coordination with the partner hospitals for cataract surgery.
Improving Maternal, Neonatal and Child Survival (IMNCS), Health Programme, Advocacy Programme
BRAC works at the community level to create demand for health services amongst the people in the community. UNICEF works with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of GoB in the supply side, and also provides technical and logistical support to the GoB health facilities to help them avail quality health services. Donors are AusAID, DFID and EKN.

BRAC Learning Division and Ministry of Social Welfare of Bangladesh have been jointly working to develop the capacity of the social workers to build a child protection system in Bangladesh.

TB Control, Health Programme
From 2004 onwards, Bangladesh has been receiving the Global Fund for National TB Control Program under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). BRAC serves as the NGO principal recipient related to NGO implementation with 43 other partners. In addition, BRAC provides direct services in 297 upazillas in 42 districts, including Chittagong Hill Tracts, prisons, twenty four academic institutions, Chittagong and Khulna Port Authority Hospitals and various parts of the city corporations.
Malaria Control, Health Programme
BRAC is one of the principal recipient of GFATM with GoB in National Malayria Control Program. BRAC is working in partnership and collaboration with GoB with technical support from WHO. There are 20 subrecipient NGOs under BRAC for implementing the program at community level. Major activities include:
- early diagnosis and prompt treatment of Malaria patients
- promotion of insecticide treated nets
- awareness raising in the community
National Institute for Local Government (NILG)
Partnership with Govt Institute (MOU is on Processing):
- Utilization of mutual resource (human & non-human) dynamism: using expertise of resource persons and available physical facilities of both parties across the country;
- NILG and BLD might also be developed co-brand courses for GO and NGOs;
- Staff development (receiving training): special consideration into training costs especially on tuition & accommodation fees;
- Facilitation: BLD can facilitate different training courses for local government officials and representatives at any of its local residential BLCs (depends on availability).
Tongi Paurashava
Disaster, Environment and Climate Change Programme
Tongi Paurashava has signed a contract with BRAC to design and implement a municipal solid waste management project for Tongi Paurashava. It entails the collection by the Paurashava anad BRAC of collection of all soild waste generated within Tongi (around 150 MT per day), sorting them into organic and non-organic and processing the organic fraction into fertilizers and electricity.
