Bangladesh Agriculture & Food Security: Agriculture extension - Deisseminating technology

We know the importance of sharing technology and better quality production techniques. Farmers are not always aware of the best practices of farming with hybrid seeds and we work extensively to provide that information and technology to them and make sure it is put into practice. Through our 136,320 village organisations (VOs), 500,000 small and mid farm families receive regular advice and services in agricultural activities. BRAC has 250 agriculturists and 8,903 agriculture extension workers in 64 districts of Bangladesh to provide agriculture extension services and regular monitoring of overall agriculture development. The members of village organisations receive training, credit support and technical assistance to boost-up land productivity and farm income. Through this programme, 85,672 commercial farmers brought 57,530 hectares of land under vegetable cultivation.
