Activities in the Disaster affected area

BRAC has been working to help improve the condition of disaster affected people in the coastal areas. BRAC has developed and has been implementing the following projects in Barisal and Khulna divisions (27 sub-districts of 7 coastal districts) and in 4 sub districts of Chandpur and Noakhali districts to develop disaster resilient agricultural practices for improving food security and also for rehabilitation of the cyclone victims of the coastal regions of Bangladesh. The projects are:
 

• Crop Intensification for achieving food self-sufficiency in the coastal regions of Bangladesh (Crop intensification project-EU grant).
• Restoring socio-economic stability and strengthening community resilience in areas affected by cyclone AILA (AILA rehabilitation project-EU grant).
• Agriculture credit program for cyclone victims in Bangladesh (Agriculture credit project- IDB interest-free credit).
• Tenant farmers development project (all over Bangladesh-Bangladesh Bank credit).
