
We have been working in Tanzania since June 2006 and have substantial operations throughout the country, including the poor coastal communities of Zanzibar.
Within less than three years, BRAC has established itself as a major provider of microfinance, and is one of the largest NGOs in the country in terms of programme diversity and implementation.

BRAC is also emerging as a major employer in the country, providing permanent jobs for more than 1,000 Tanzanians (mostly women). We invest in their career development through training and capacity building, and also provide them with long-term career prospects.
