The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is Canada's lead agency for development assistance with the goal of reducing poverty, promoting human rights, and providing support for sustainable development. CIDA funds one of the major development programmes in Sri Lanka, the Economic Well-Being through Livelihoods project. This project focuses mainly on the rehabilitation of farms, businesses, and household subsistence gardens after the tsunami, as well as the creation of new livelihoods through skills training.
