BRAC Sri Lanka: Donor Profiles

 The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is Canada's lead agency for development assistance with the goal of reducing poverty, promoting human rights, and providing support for sustainable development. CIDA funds one of the major development programmes in Sri Lanka, the Economic Well-Being through Livelihoods project. This project focuses mainly on the rehabilitation of farms, businesses, and household subsistence gardens after the tsunami, as well as the creation of new livelihoods through skills training. GTZ is is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. It provides technical assistance and training in implementing projects in a broad range of fields such as the environment, infrastructure, and economic/social development. Oxfam Novib strives to free the world from poverty by working together with people, organizations, businesses and governments. Oxfam contributes grants and loans to tsunami affected people, as well as helps us extend our coverage and strengthen parnerships with local NGOs in BRAC Sri Lanka.

The Stromme Foundation a development organization with the vision of people living in freedom of poverty, through microfinance and education. It provides loans to microfinance beneficiaries in Sri Lanka.

The Deutsche Bank offers financial products and services, risk management products, and contributes to the microfinance aspect of BRAC projects in Sri Lanka.

Etimos is an international financial association which contributes loans to BRAC beneficiaries.
