Delivering education services is currently a top priority in BRAC's development agenda in South Sudan. BRAC South Sudan supports both formal as well as non-formal education. In addition vocational education is provided to youth linked with livelihood development. The education programme covers children and adolescents between the ages of 8 to 19. Through BRAC’s unique model of operating schools, lessons are delivered in a more child-friendly and learner- centered manner. In South Sudan, BRAC’s community girls' schooling and accelerated learning programme is an alternative academic programme targeting marginalised girls. Another significant project in education is “Girls’ Education South Sudan' which was commissioned by BMB Mott MacDonald and funded by FCDO. The main objective of the project is to contribute to increase the access and quality of education for girls through community participation in the schools.
